Within the 15,000 square foot Montgomery Eye Center is a 3,000 square foot Ambulatory Surgical Center configured exclusively for eye surgery. This state of the art facility is state licensed, Medicare certified and AAAHC accredited. The surgery center is staffed by board-certified ophthalmic surgeons, as well as the CRNAs and RNs that make it all possible. The center is tightly controlled and is run by allowing only Montgomery Eye Center physicians to perform surgeries in our facility. Anesthesia is provided on site by full time, board certified CRNAs, with the CRNAs always being present.
We perform outpatient eye surgery in our state-of-the-art operating theaters, which are designed and equipped solely for ophthalmic procedures. In each of our operating theaters, ORA intra-operative refractive technology is used to take the guesswork out of surgical outcomes and to optimize visual results. While these operating rooms are equivalent to the most advanced hospital operating rooms in terms of patient safety. In addition to containing the latest and most advanced surgical equipment available, our surgery center was designed with patient comfort and safety in mind. Ergonomic loungers and large windows that let in soothing, natural light create a pre- and post-operative environment of warmth and relaxation.
Convenient, comfortable and safe, our surgery center is an important part of your experience at Montgomery Eye Center.
The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) is the preeminent leader in developing standards to advance and promote patient safety, quality and value for ambulatory health care through peer-based accreditation processes, education and research. Accreditation is ultimately awarded to organizations that are found to be in compliance with the Accreditation Association standards. AAAHC is widely respected in the medical community for having the most stringent standards for accreditation.
The AAAHC Accreditation means that Montgomery Eye Center has passed a series of rigorous and nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by the AAAHC. Organizations seeking this accreditation are required to undergo an extensive on-site, peer-based survey of their facilities and services. Not all ambulatory health care organizations seek this accreditation and not all seeking the accreditation are granted it; however our commitment to providing the highest quality patient care is evidenced by our drive to pursue this status.
Montgomery Eye Center’s surgical center has consistently received and exceeded AAAHC accreditation standards since its inception in 1984. In fact, they were so impressed at our first inspection, they asked Dr. Montgomery to join their team as an inspector.
