What is a Comprehensive Eye Exam?
Our eye exams are anything but routine – we pride ourselves on the thoroughness of our assessments. Your complete eye exam will include:
- A refraction, which checks for the need for glasses or contacts
- A dilated examination of the back of the eye, which confirms retinal health
- A detailed cataract evaluation
Our ophthalmologists will also perform an intraocular pressure measurement, which determines whether you are at risk for developing glaucoma, among other conditions including cataracts, macular degeneration, or dry eye.
Eye exams also include a check for other, non eye diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, tumors, cancer, autoimmune disorders, and thyroid disorders
While we use the most advanced ophthalmologic instruments and computerized testing devices, nothing matches an ophthalmologist’s skill and experience. Our Naples eye physicians and technical staff members perform hundreds of exams each year and know how to look for anything of concern. Should there be need for further diagnostics or treatment, we offer comprehensive care right in our facility.
What to Expect at your Naples, FL Eye Exam
Please bring any current glasses or contact lenses and a list of medications you may be taking. When you are greeted at our front desk, you will be asked for your insurance card as well as other related information. After your examination, you may experience some blurriness of your vision and light sensitivity due to the dilating drops. This may be reduced by wearing sunglasses; if you do not have your own, we will gladly supply you with a pair.
